The first week of the new school year is in the books! I was reminded what a blessing it is to work at a school this week. It truly is a joy to interact with the kids on a daily basis and watch them grow in their faith and mature into young adults. It also means a lot to me that my two youngest kids are at ALA together this year. Rachel is a senior and Adam is a freshman. I enjoy watching them do their homework together and hearing them share things about their day.
Scrip sales continue to be strong. We had to place a very large order this week. I think the order numbers are rising because many families are switching to other grocery stores besides Fry's, and that requires that I order larger numbers of cards for these stores. A huge thank you to Lois Sonntag who helps process the incoming orders. She lives right across the street from ALA, and many weeks she sees the FedEx truck arrive at ALA, and she heads out the door before the FedEx truck leaves the parking lot. She's always ready to help!
We have added two new Scrip reps in the last few weeks. A big welcome to Laurie Converse who is offering Scrip to the people at King of Kings in Apache Junction! And Lynnette Stahmann is making Scrip available for the families at Emmanuel Lutheran School. ALA is grateful for all of you and your time commitment to Christian education!
Fry's Update
My best guess is that Fry's will be gone within two weeks now. That will be a very sad day.
Review Your Inventory
This Sunday is just the third Sunday of the month, so inventory reports are NOT due. But perhaps this would be a good week to review what cards have been sitting in your inventory for a long time and return them to me. When you return cards to me, please note them on an Excel sheet or some other sort of list.
Fry's Bulletin Insert
At the top of the blog there is a Fry's bulletin insert explaining the changes in how Fry's supports our Scrip program. If you need this in another format please let me know. I began working on updating other materials this week and will continue with this as quickly as I can. You'd be amazed at how many places I'm finding references to Fry's. I'm eager to make this transition to a non-Fry's Scrip program and be done with all the changes, grrrr! I thank you for your patience.
Have a great week!
