Hi everybody!

Just two things to note this week:

Our Mail
Our postal service has not improved this week. In fact it''s gotten worse. We received no mail delivery Tuesday and Wednesday. John Mueller went to the post office on Thursday morning to pick up our bin of mail and the post office said they didn't have our gate code. (It's been the same for almost a decade and the post office has had it that long.) So we have no assurance that our mail service was going to improve.

Yesterday I dropped off my son at school at 5 pm for a game, and the mail truck was sitting in front of the gym, yards away from the mailbox. I asked him if he was delivering the mail, and he said he had picked up the outgoing mail, and he was going to take the incoming mail to the office. I pointed out that the office was closed so he should put the mail in the mailbox. He said he didn't know where the mailbox was. I pointed out that it was the box that he had just taken the outgoing mail from. Sadly, his confusion seems to be a clear indication of why we're having so many troubles.

SO, any checks that were mailed to ALA this week have not yet made it to the bank. If any of your supporters ever question why it takes their checks so long to clear, the answer is the post office as well as the fact that our bank is 14 miles away and John goes there just once a week.

Thankfully I had a premonition about the mail and I filled orders first thing on Monday. So most Scrip went out on Monday when we DID have pickup!
